Today, I will start giving attention to my OTR trip this year, with Annie. While the memories of Donner, and Leben and Erde, Sonntag and Kessie, and Montag before him will be with me on whatever trips I take, this trip will be Annie's to claim for her own. It certainly will be a different trip with a squirt as my companion, but she is a lovable squirt nonetheless.
I have no idea where the trip this year will take is. It could be anywhere from back to the Shenandoah Valley or, if I can get an early start, perhaps to Vancouver Island. But wherever we end up, my guess is that this will be the last trip I take in my beloved Defender, as it approaches its 30th birthday. It will be time to give that magnificent machine a well-deserved rest.
